The colour is soft charcoal — warm dark grey with a brown undertone, never blue-black. The cloth itself: a long silky halo of fibres standing off the surface and glowing pale where light passes through it; weightless, cloudlike, almost translucent at the edge.
Cut for European bed sizes and sewn to survive a weekly wash for years, not for one season of photographs.
